While the town of New Waterford has a strong reputation for its sport and recreational facilities, community members recognized the need to launch an initiative that would improve the state of arts and culture in the area. The Coastal Arts Initiative was thus formed to help build the infrastructure and community support that is necessary to cultivate an artistic sensibility and skill base in the region, as well as to coalesce existing local artists.
